Standard or MAX

Summary

When you create a workspace, you choose how the assistant will search for information in your documents: in Standard or MAX mode. Standard uses a fast hybrid search: it finds the most relevant passages of the documents and answers right away.

MAX, instead, reads every document and builds a knowledge wiki, with pages dedicated to topics, people and concepts, linked to one another. In the panel of a MAX workspace you also find the Grafo della conoscenza, with the wiki pages and the links between them.

Standard uses a fast hybrid search: it finds the most relevant passages of the documents and answers right away. It is ready in a few moments, and it is the recommended choice for most workspaces.

MAX, instead, reads every document and builds a knowledge wiki, with pages dedicated to topics, people and concepts, linked to one another. Processing takes longer, up to five minutes for the longest files, but the answers are more complete, especially for complex questions, or comparisons across several documents.

On the home page, MAX workspaces are recognisable by the badge on their card. When you open one, in the panel you also find the Grafo della conoscenza. Here you see the wiki pages and the links between them. You can search for a page, filter by type and zoom the map.

Remember: the mode is chosen when you create the workspace, and it cannot be changed later. If in doubt, start with Standard.
